i would have to say that ray franz was the biggest influence for me.. when i first got on this board, a poster by the name of james, a former bethelite and organization heavy, helped me understand a lot of the inner workings in the upper echelons of the society.. .

and of course, farkel's common sense approach was (usually) helpful..

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I love it when normal people have imaginary friends. Did you know Godzilla has a French accent? He does!

(I fully expect to be denounced for not "respecting" other people's mental delusions and imaginary friends. If your imaginary friend is so powerful, let HIM (or HER, or IT) defend him-her-itself. Stand mute and behold the glory of thy god.

I also understand why lots of people are big fans of Ray Franz. Ray Franz was a good guy, but face it: he was no Godzilla. Ray had NO effect whatsovever on me, because I tunnelled out of the WT Stalag YEARS before Ray did. Two of my heros are Barbara Grazuitti Harrison, who I had an opportunity to speak with and thank before her death, and Tony Wills, with whom I colaborated in re-publishing his book, "A People For His Name: A History of Jehovah's Witnesses and An Evaluation."

I have also been greatly helped by the notorious apostate known as Farkel, and other, equally notorious apostates like Richard Rawe, Leolaia, Rick & Inez Fearon, Barb Anderson, Bill Bowen, Danny Haszard, Don Cameron (who pointed me to LuLu), Terry Walstrom, Moshe, Alanf, Jan Haugland. The "secret apostate, "Agent Six", has always been a great supprt. Of course most of this would not have happened if not for our host, Simon Green (Lantern).

I believe in SuperHeros, and I believe that mortal men can become SuperHeros if they choose to. Some may be SuperHeros for only a brief time, like The Incredible Hulk, others once transformed remain so forever, like Ben Grimm.

It is a pleasure to see the ranks of the Notorious Apostates swelling. Many nascent SuperHeros post here. We even have the occasional SuperZero show up to provide tragi-comic relief. I'm thinking of the man who was a tree, yet is not a tree, yet will be a tree.

If I have overlooked anyone , it is only because my memory has holes in it.

The pdf version to which I referred was distributed on a "you received free, give free" basis. If that ideal holds (Naive? Me?) then the pdf would not be for sale on eBay at any price, but people can be SO disheartening... *sigh*

That's GREAT! It's like an anti-congregation! The greatest damage done by the Watchtower is via the ostracism brought by "shunning."

With a nice-sized support group like this, wavering JWs can tell the Judicial Committee to go pound spiritual sand.

The Aid book was released by UADNA as a pdf several years ago. I don't have access to it right now, but someone here can probably hook you up...

Rumor: April 3, 2015 start of Great Tribulation?

on another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.

dont ask me to verify the rumor...these things come and go.

im sure lots of people in hq believe all sorts of things.. .

The Watchtower teaches that the JUBILEE year was celebrated every 50 years.

2015 is the year following the second Jubilee after Jesus Christ received his Kingdom (1914 + 50 +50 = 2014)

WHY the second Jubilee?

Because the number 2 represents shit, which is what this speculation is.
